Chef Barner has been part of the Hampton Roads restaurant community for many, many years. For some the business is said to be “in their blood” and so it is with him. Working for and with many of finest chefs in the area Garrett had the opportunity to learn many different styles of the culinary arts including classical French, Cajun and Japanese. Combining these with American Bistro, Chesapeake Bay Classic Seafood recipes and exposure to a variety of restaurants gives him a unique knowledge base for the creative art of cooking. His creativity is obvious when seeing his presentations, the taste of his sauces and the flavorful combinations on every plate. Chef insists on buying only the freshest produce, fish and seafood. Among Chef’s many contributions to the restaurant are his award winning She-crab soup, our feature of the house, Rack of Lamb, our incredible Tapas selection, our selection of homemade desserts and last but not least his hugely popular Monday night kitchen side cooking classes.
